Periodontics & Oral Implantology
The Department of Periodontology deals with the etiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases involving the gums and supporting tissues of the teeth. It is fully equipped with modern dental chairs, Ultra-sonic scalers and latest periodontal diagnostic and surgical instruments.
The department offers both UG and PG training programs. Undergraduate students are trained with skills to render non-surgical and preventive periodontal treatments and are introduced to periodontal surgeries by observing and assisting.
The postgraduate students are provided with a strong educational foundation. They are given opportunity to master a variety of surgical procedures. Hands on training in various implant systems and clinical exposure to use of lasers are being imparted as part of the curriculum. We encourage students to participate and make presentations in various conferences and also to contribute knowledge through basic and clinical research.

Our department is equipped with state of the art facilities such as RVG, Lasers, Electrocautery, Physiodispenser, diverse implant surgical kits, Sinus Lift kits. We also have a separate fully equipped Implant and minor surgical Clinic. The department shows a sound ability to maintain quality, safety and infection control standards.
We provide following treatment facilities to the patients:

- Gingival curettage
- Local drug delivery
- Tooth splinting
- Gingivectomy
- Minor surgeries as abscess drainage and frenectomy

Apart from routine clinical cases, here patients are motivated and educated to keep good oral hygiene . Regular recall/maintenance appointments are given to them for the revaluation of the oral condition.
