The Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge is engaged in teaching of BDS students since 2014. The MDS course in the subject of Prosthodontics with intake capacity of 02 seats per year was started in the year 2020.
Prosthodontics is the specialty of dentistry, which is a unique blend of art, science and creativity, pertaining to the restoration and rehabilitation of missing teeth or oral and maxillofacial structures.
Department of Prosthodontics is a center of excellence with highly qualified, dedicated, enthusiastic, motivated and trained faculty members. The faculties are student friendly and incorporate modern teaching learning methods and latest techniques for educating students to be competent, skilled and confident in the discipline of Prosthodontics.
The faculties of the department are research oriented and have participated in various scientific forums and delivered guest lectures and presented scientific papers at zonal, state, national and international platforms.
The department imparts excellent clinical and academic skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The students undergo simulation training in dummy models and mannequins to learn the fundamental skills in pre-clinical work and evolve to master in simpler to more complex real cases in clinics. Through didactic and clinical teaching of the subject as well as communication skills, the students gain adequate knowledge and skills to cater to the optimal need of oral health, esthetics and function of the patient.
The department has state of art infrastructure with trained faculties and supporting staff enabling the students to deliver quality dental care to patients at affordable prices. The Department also encourages students for participating in various academic events pertaining to prosthetic dentistry.
